Joong Warehouse ("Joong", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use joongwarehouse.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — email address, name, business name, phone number, and delivery address that you provide when you sign up or place an order.
- Order & payment information — the products you buy, order history, invoices, delivery confirmations, and payment records (payment card details are processed by our payment provider and are not stored on our servers).
- Usage data — pages visited, products viewed, and interactions with the site. We use cookies and similar tools for session management, cart persistence, and (with your consent) analytics.
- Communication records — messages you send us and the emails we send you.
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and process orders.
- To send transactional messages: order confirmations, delivery updates, invoices, and account notices. These are not optional while you have an active account.
- To send marketing messages (promotions, new products, wholesale deals) only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
- To improve the site, detect fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the site (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, shipping) — under contract and limited to the data they need.
- Law enforcement or other authorities when required by law.
4. Cookies & tracking
We use strictly necessary cookies for session login and cart. Analytics tools load only after you accept cookies via the consent banner.
If you accept the consent banner, we also track which products you view and what you search for on this site, tied to an opaque random visitor ID stored in a cookie. We use that history to personalize the "Recommended for You" rail on the homepage so it shows products in categories you've shown interest in. We do not sell this data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising. Behaviour data is kept for 90 days, then automatically deleted. You can wipe your history at any time by sending a DELETE request to /api/visitor/data from a browser session that has the visitor cookie set, or by emailing us.
5. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active and for up to 7 years afterward to satisfy Jamaica's commercial record-keeping obligations. You can request deletion of data that is not subject to legal retention.
6. Your rights
You may:
- Access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by contacting us.
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.

7. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted password hashing, and restrict access to personal data to authorized staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will notify active account holders by email and update the "last updated" date above.
